MAJOR WEEKEND PAVING REPLACEMENT PROJECT TO IMPACT
NEW YORK-BOUND GWB USERS
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has begun the second part of work for the GWB Upper Level Eastbound Pavement Replacement Project on April 4, 2008. The first half of the project was completed in fall of 2007.
Friday, 10 p.m. until 10 a.m. Saturday morning
Saturday, 10 p.m. until 10 a.m. Sunday morning
Three of four eastbound upper level bridge lanes will be closed to traffic. The eastbound lower level, which is normally E-ZPass only, will be staffed to handle both cash and E-ZPass transactions. MAJOR DELAYS ARE EXPECTED. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes, such as the Lincoln Tunnel, for access to New York. Commercial traffic must use the upper level and are advised to budget extra time.
